Winter Bucket List Ideas

Read story

The Winter season surely is the most wonderful time of the year! Snow starts to paint everything white and the days become shorter, so the thought of spending more time indoors, curled up under a blanket watching TV just becomes more and more appealing.

I’m not gonna lie! I loooove marathoning feel-good films in my PJs on a snowy day but there’s so much more you can do during this season.

That’s why I’ve created this bucket list filled with ideas to make this festive period even more special!

  • Go around the neighbourhood: You’ll get even more in the festive spirit by going on a family car trip to see the Christmas lights around the area where you live.
  • Do some baking: Besides being delicious, nothing really beats the aroma of warm Christmas cookies baking in the oven, filling the whole house with that warm and fuzzy feeling.
  • Feel cosy: There are so many things that can make us feel cosier in winter. Having a relaxing bath, playing puzzle and board games, sitting by the fire with s’mores and a hot chocolate in hand are some of my favourites.
  • Give back: In the true festive spirit, you can give back to your community by donating to a local organisation, bringing treats to local first responders or volunteering in a shelter or soup kitchen.
  • Get reflective: A new year is just around the corner so it’s a good time to list all things that you were grateful for this year and what things you hope that a new year will bring into your life.
  • Go outdoors: Yes, I get it that it’s cold and you just want to hibernate until spring comes around again but there’s so much fun to be had outside in winter! You can visit a tree farm or go ice skating, sledding, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, ice fishing…the list is endless! Take your favourite pick and enjoy it!
  • Play in the snow: Channel your inner child and try to catch snowflakes on your tongue, breathe onto cold glass to draw a picture on it, build a snowman, make a snow angel or start a snowball fight with your friends.
  • Be creative: The countdown to Christmas is on so it’s time to put your tree up and decorate your home. You can also get creative by making a winter wreath for your front door and paper snowflakes to top up the decoration.

Hi,

I'm Linda. An adventurous soul and perpetual nomad trapped in an adult life. I used to feel unfulfilled and daydream of adventures while sitting at my desk. Then I decided to make a change and go out to see the world.

I still work full-time, but now I balance it with bucketlist trips, weekend adventures, and an overall better work-life balance. I have been to 66 countries while building my own business - so it's totally doable.

I'm glad you're here and I hope I can help inspire you to redefine adulthood with me
